The Community Seed Exchange at Barton Public Library, a free program that encourages residents of Orleans County, Vermont, to plant, share and save seeds.
The CSE is closed for the season. We will be doing an inventory of the remaining seeds, checking them for viability for 2022, and soliciting donations from wonderful seed companies for the Spring. If you have any special needs email us at email@example.com.
During the 2021 growing season we saw many home gardeners and homesteaders come to the CSE. We also were able to donate seeds to community gardens, farm to school programs and distribute them through other community agencies. So great to see folks growing food!
Are you a seed saver? We welcome donations of locally sourced, non-GMO seeds to distribute to gardeners through the CSE. We have envelopes for dividing and identifying them available at the library. Just come in or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are excited to welcome Sylvia Davitz, renowned seed saver, to present on seed saving techniques on Saturday September 25th. The presentation will take place at the Barton Community Giving Garden located behind the Barton Library parking lot. Details to follow soon!
